A Midsummer Night's Dream 한여름 밤의 꿈 / Shakespeare 셰익스피어 본문
Once upon a time, in a magical forest, there lived fairies. The king of the fairies, Oberon, was fighting with his queen, Titania. Because of their fight, the magic in the forest was all mixed up!
At the same time, four young friends from the city came into the forest. Two girls, Helena and Hermia, and two boys, Demetrius and Lysander, were having trouble with their love for each other. Hermia and Lysander loved each other, but Hermia's father wanted her to marry Demetrius. Helena loved Demetrius, but he didn't love her back.
Oberon wanted to help them, so he told his mischievous helper, Puck, to put magic flower juice in the eyes of Demetrius. This juice would make him fall in love with the first person he saw when he woke up. But Puck made a mistake and put the juice in Lysander's eyes instead! When Lysander woke up, he saw Helena and fell in love with her. This made everyone very confused and sad.
Oberon also put some of the flower juice on Titania's eyes while she was sleeping, as a prank. When she woke up, the first creature she saw was a silly man named Bottom who had been given a donkey's head by Puck! Titania fell in love with him, which was very funny.
Finally, Oberon felt sorry for all the confusion. He used another magic flower to fix everything. Lysander loved Hermia again, and Demetrius fell in love with Helena. Titania was also given an antidote and fell back in love with Oberon.
Everyone was happy in the end. The four friends were in love with the right people, and the fairy king and queen were friends again. They all went back to the city, remembering the strange and wonderful dreams they had in the forest.
