Talking About "Tosca 토스카 / Puccini 푸치니" 본문
Dialogue:
Jaegyum: Hey Jaeyi, I was reading this blog post about the opera "Tosca." It sounds really dramatic!
Jaeyi: "Tosca"? Is that the one you told me about where the singer lady's boyfriend gets captured?
Jaegyum: Yeah, that's it! His name is Cavaradossi, and he's a painter. And the bad guy, Scarpia, he's the chief of police, and he's super creepy.
Jaeyi: What does he want? Why does he capture Cavaradossi?
Jaegyum: Well, Cavaradossi helped a political prisoner escape. And Scarpia thinks Tosca, the singer, knows where he is. The blog post said Scarpia is like, totally obsessed with Tosca.
Jaeyi: Eww, that's gross! So he uses Cavaradossi to try and trick Tosca?
Jaegyum: Exactly! He tells Tosca he'll let Cavaradossi go if she… well, if she does something really horrible for him.
Jaeyi: Oh no! What does she do? Does she save her boyfriend?
Jaegyum: It's really sad. She does something to try and save him, but it all goes wrong in the end. The blog post says it's a tragedy.
Jaeyi: That sounds so intense for an opera! Maybe we can listen to some of the music sometime?
Jaegyum: Definitely! The blog post mentioned some famous arias, like "Vissi d'arte" sung by Tosca. It sounds really beautiful but also really sad.
